DIAMOND BAR (CNS) - A wrong-way driver eastbound on the westbound Pomona (60) Freeway in Diamond Bar this morning has killed six people and injured at least one other person, authorities said.

The crash occurred at 4:50 a.m. on the westbound Pomona Freeway north of Diamond Bar Boulevard, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Coroner's Lt. Fred Corral said two people transported to UCI Medical Center later died.

Corral said the dead were four females and two males. He also said one of the drivers was transported to Los Angeles County/USC Medical Center in serious condition.

One of the injured was transported by helicopter to a hospital, said Los Angeles County Fire Dispatch Supervisor Kyle Sanford.

The 60 West remains Closed for the investigation. The 60 East is now open.
