SANTA ANA, Calif. (AP) — Prosecutors in the case against two women charged in the death of a 23-year-old woman beaten outside an Orange County nightclub say cellphone video and witness accounts prove they kicked the victim in the head during a fight.

City News Service reports prosecutors said in closing arguments Tuesday that jurors need to decide whether or not Candace Brito and Vanesa Zavala murdered Kim Pham outside the nightclub.

Jurors will consider second-degree murder or a lesser offense such as voluntary manslaughter. The women also face other charges including assault with force likely to cause great bodily injury.

Pham died after being taken off life support several days after the attack. She graduated from Chapman University last year and was recently married.

Closing arguments will continue Wednesday.
