Teen Summer Jobs On The Rise

More teenagers are being hired for those coveted summer jobs. Executive coaching firm Challenger, Gray and Christmas said that more than 1 million teens between 16 and 19 have landed a job in June. That's an almost 52% increase as compared to May when only 75,000 teens were hired.

Retailers have seen a slight decline of jobs for teens across California, but many more companies are now hiring teens for their online savvy instead of just an extra pair of hands. Several businesses say they're looking to keep their younger employees on staff after  the beginning of the school year in September.
