Top Dems Announce DACA Deal WIth Trump

The top Democrats in Congress say they've struck a deal with President Donald Trump over protections for illegal immigrants brought to the U.S. as children.  A joint statement from Senator Chuck Schumer and House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi said in their meeting with Trump last night they agreed to enshrine DACA into law.  Trump rescinded the Obama-era program earlier this month.  The group also promised to work out a border security package that wouldn't include funding for Trump's plan for a border wall, but would be acceptable to Democrats and Republicans.  However, White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders later claimed on Twitter that there was no agreement on excluding the border wall.

Trump previously sided with Democrats in linking funding for Hurricane Harvey relief aid to a package that raised the debt ceiling and funded the government for three more months.
