VAN NUYS (CNS) - Security was beefed up today at Van Nuys High School in the wake of an apparent threat made against students via Snapchat.

The Los Angeles Police Department's Major Crimes Division was assisting Los Angeles school police in the investigation involving the campus in the 6400 block of Cedros Avenue, where classes were in session.

Parents notified authorities after learning of the threat, which involved an apparent conversation among two young people who know one another in which a comment was made that a person wanted to ``kill everyone'' at the school, according to broadcast reports.
