Thousands of Disney California Adventure tickets inside a stolen and still-missing trailer have been digitally canceled as the CHP investigates the theft.
The CHP says security video caught thieves swiping the box trailer from a property between Elk Grove and Galt around 3 a.m. Wednesday morning. The trailer was heading for the 90th Annual State FFA Leadership Conference in Anaheim with the tickets meant for the more than 6,500 high school students who will be attending this weekend.
The four-day event includes programs like job-skills training, agricultural visits, and the private event at Disney's California Adventure theme park.
Security footage caught the suspect taking the trailer from the foundation's parking lot. The man can be seen cutting the lock, and attaching the trailer to his own dark-extended-cab pickup and drove away. The stolen trailer is described as a white, double-axle Wells Cargo trailer with license plate: 4KJ1127.
A spokeswoman for Disney told the L.A. Times that the new tickets have been issued for the conference attendees.
In addition to the missing tickets, the trailer was also being used to haul audio-visual equipment worth between $15,000 and $20,000 as well as FFA-branded merchandise that included mugs, sweatshirts, picture frames, and shirts. The total value of everything stolen in the trailer was $800,000.
