Child Returned To Mother After Allegedly Taken By Non-Custodial Father

PACOIMA (CNS) - An 18-month-old boy taken by his non-custodial father in Pacoima was found and returned to his mother, authorities said today.

Details of where or when the boy was found, nor the whereabouts of his father, were immediately disclosed by the Los Angeles Police Department.

An Amber Alert was issued about 11 p.m. Thursday for Jaden Jose, who was taken from a home near the 9500 block of Laurel Canyon Boulevard about 3:30 p.m. by his father, John Jose, according to police.

“John took Jaden without the biological mother's consent and threatened to take Jaden out of state,” according to a police statement. “John also threatened to kill himself.”

The search for Jaden led authorities to the San Diego area Thursday night. Deputies went to a home in the 3000 block of Bonita Mesa Road in Bonita to search for the boy and his father, according to Lt. A. Aldana of the San Diego County Sheriff's Department. Neither the boy nor his father was at the location, Aldana said.

John Jose was last seen in a 2004 dark blue four-door Audi with the license plate number 7ZVX343. He is described as a 30-year-old Filipino who is 5 feet 5 inches tall, weighs about 130 pounds and has black hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of John Jose was urged to call the watch commander at the LAPD's Foothill Station at (818) 756- 8861.
