LOS ANGELES (CNS) - Heading to a Rams game at Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum this season? Don't try getting in with a ticket you printed at home. New NFL rules will be in effect this year, requiring all fans to have either an actual Rams-issued ticket or an electronic ticket saved on a cell phone. No print-at-home tickets will be accepted.
Rams officials encouraged fans to download the latest version of the team's mobile app, from which they can save, send or sell tickets. Tickets purchased online can also be saved to the Apple Wallet or Android Passbook apps and displayed at entry gates to the stadium. As usual, fans were being encouraged to use public transit to access the stadium, since construction at the Coliseum and the future Lucas Museum of Narrative Arts has eliminated lots in Exposition Park.
Public parking at USC lots will cost $50.The team is partnering with Tailgate Guys, through which fans cans rent tailgating space beginning five hours prior to kickoff. Large groups can rent spaces that include tents, tables and chairs. No tailgating is permitted on the USC campus or in USC parking lots.
Construction work in the area will also limit some pedestrian movement at the Coliseum. Game tickets will include a suggested gate for fans to enter the stadium. There will be no public access between tunnels 5 and 9, meaning fans will not be able to walk all the way around the Coliseum.
The Rams will play their first game at the Coliseum at 1 p.m. Saturday -- a preseason matchup with the Oakland Raiders.
