Woman Struck and Injured by Amtrak Train in Chatsworth Area

CHATSWORTH (CNS) - A woman was struck by an Amtrak train today in a tunnel in the Chatsworth area and airlifted to a hospital, authorities said.

Paramedics and an air ambulance were sent to the 10300 block of North Shadow Oaks Drive about 1 p.m., according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. About 100 people were aboard Amtrak train 767 when it struck the unidentified pedestrian, whose condition was not immediately available. No one on the train was reported to have been injured, according to Metrolink.

Metrolink's Ventura County Line 109 train to Moorpark terminated in Chatsworth while crews worked to clear the scene, and alternate transportation was being sought for the rail passengers, Metrolink reported.
