Southland Gas Prices Continue To Drop

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped today for the 22nd consecutive day, decreasing 1.1 cents to $3.72, its lowest amount since Sept. 25.

The average price has dropped 15.7 cents over the past 22 days, including nine-tenths of a cent on Tuesday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The average price is 6.7 cents less than one week ago and 16.1 cents lower than one month ago, but 42.2 cents more than one year ago. It has risen 57 cents since the start of the year.

The Orange County average price dropped for the 21st consecutive day today, decreasing 1.1 cents to $3.667 -- its lowest amount since Sept. 25. It has decreased 15.6 cents over the past 21 days, including seven-tenths of a cent on Tuesday.

The Orange County average price is 6.4 cents less than one week ago and 16.5 cents lower than one month ago, but 40.4 cents more than one year ago. It has risen 55.1 cents since the start of the year.
