Federal prosecutors are charging an IRS analyst in California with leaking confidential details of bank transactions of President Donald Trump's former lawyer Michael Cohen. John C. Fry is accused of turning over the reports to Michael Avenatti, the lawyer for Stormy Daniels, in early 2018. According to a criminal complaint unsealed in San Francisco today, Fry admitted to providing the information to Avenatti when agents confronted him with phone records and other evidence. The 54-year-old Fry is an investigative analyst with the law enforcement arm of the IRS. If convicted, he faces up to five years in prison and a $250,000 fine for violating disclosure laws.
