LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose one-tenth of a cent today to its highest amount since Jan. 3, $3.37.
The average price has increased nine of the past 10 days, rising 2 cents, including three-tenths of a cent on Thursday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It is 1.7 cents more than one week ago and 3.6 cents higher than one month ago but 10.5 cents less than one year ago.
The average price has dropped 2.1 cents since the start of the year.
The Orange County average price rose two-tenths of a cent to $3.319, one day after dropping two-tenths of a cent. It is 1.1 cents more than one week ago and 2.2 cents higher than one month ago, but 11.9 cents less than one year ago. The Orange County average price has dropped 3 cents since the start of the year.
“Refinery issues have been kept to a minimum so far this year which has helped to keep prices unusually stable for this time of year,” said Jeffrey Spring, the Automobile Club of Southern California's corporate communications manager.
