LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose two-tenths of a cent for the second straight day today and is now $4.078, its highest amount since July 31, 2015.
The average price is 2.6 cents more than one week ago, 66.8 cents higher than one month ago and 45.4 cents greater than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
The Orange County average price rose four-tenths of a cent to $4.051, its highest amount since July 31, 2015.
It has risen 32 of the past 33 days, increasing 72.9 cents, including three-tenths of a cent on Friday. The Orange County average price is 2.9 cents more than one week ago, 69.5 cents higher than one month ago and 46.3 cents greater than one year ago.
The rising prices are the result of a series of refinery issues that have reduced supply, according to Jeffrey Spring, the Automobile Club of Southern California's corporate communications manager.
