LOS ANGELES (CNS) - American flags will be placed at approximately 88,000 graves throughout the Los Angeles National Cemetery in Westwood tomorrow by more than 6,000 Boy Scouts and adult leaders in connection with Memorial Day, organizers said.

A flag placement ceremony will also be held Saturday at Eternal Valley Memorial Park in Santa Clarita.

A three-day Memorial Day tribute will begin Saturday at the Queen Mary, docked in Long Beach, paying homage to its service as a troopship during World War II. The tribute will include character re-enactments, demonstrations, lectures and family-friendly activities.

The 22nd annual Tribute to Veterans and Military Families will be held at Arcadia County Park from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. A tribute ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. in recognition of World War II veterans.

The tribute will showcase military history, resources, wellness programs and opportunities for veterans and their families. Highlights include skydivers, a performance by the 40th Infantry Division Band, military vehicles and equipment displays. There will be a children's area, free manicures and haircuts, and food trucks.

Representatives of various Los Angeles County agencies will be on-site conducting job interviews for veterans.
