L.A. County Average Gas Price Drops For 37th Consecutive Day

"Hypermarkets" Offer Consumers Savings At The Gas Pump

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped today for the 37th consecutive day, decreasing 1 cent to $3.831, its lowest amount since April 6.

The average price has decreased 28.9 cents during the streak, including 1 cent on Wednesday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It is 6.5 cents less than one week ago and 24 cents lower than one month ago, but 9.3 cents more than one year ago.

The Orange County average price dropped for the 36th time in the past 37 days, decreasing 1.7 cents to $3.786, its lowest amount since April 5. It has decreased 31 cents over the past 37 days, including seven-tenths of a cent on Wednesday. The Orange County average price is 7.7 cents less than one week ago and 25.8 cents lower than one month ago, but 9.1 cents more than one year ago.
