Southland Gas Prices Continue Falling

U.S. Gas Prices Expected To Rise To Highest Levels Since 2014

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped a half-cent today to $3.72, the 11th consecutive decrease and 18th in 19 days.

The average price has dropped 8.9 cents over the past 19 days, including two-tenths of a cent on Monday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It is 4.5 cents less than one week ago and 1.4 cents lower than one month ago, but 8.1 cents more than one year ago.

The Orange County average price dropped six-tenths of a cent to $3.684, the 18th decrease in 20 days. It has dropped 7.5 cents over the past 20 days, including one-tenth of a cent on Monday.

The Orange County average price is 3.4 cents less than one week ago, four-tenths of a cent more than one month ago, and 10.2 cents higher than one year ago.

The dropping prices are the result of ample supply and decreasing oil prices, according to Jeffrey Spring, the Automobile Club of Southern California's corporate communications manager.
