Prince Harry 'Exploded' During Fight About Meghan Markle's Vogue Cover

Back in July 2019, Meghan Markle guest-edited a special edition of British Vogue called 'Forces for Change.' Meghan didn't appear on the cover herself—as Kate Middleton once did after marrying Prince William—but chose "a diverse selection of women from all walks of life, each driving impact and raising the bar for equality, kindness, justice and open mindedness" to appear instead. The cover also included a mirror in the sixteenth slot so that "when you hold the issue in your hands, you see yourself as part of this collective."

Here's what Meghan's British Vogue cover looked like, just in case you need a refresher:

Though the 'Forces for Change' issue received rave reviews, there was reportedly one person who wasn't thrilled about the Duchess of Sussex's project. In his new book Battle of the Brothers, royal historian Robert Lacey claims Prince William felt 'Forced for Change' wasn't politically impartial. When William voiced his concerns to Prince Harry, the brothers reportedly had a "showdown."

Despite reporting that there was a fight between William and Harry over the Vogue issue, Lacey writes that nobody knows exactly what went down between the princes. He described the situation as "another classic Harry explosion, followed by a further, even deeper rift" between the brothers. Lacey even claims this particular argument is the reason Harry and Meghan didn't join the royals in Scotland at Queen Elizabeth's Balmoral estate that summer for the royal family's annual vacation.

It's unclear where William and Harry stand now. A source close to the Duke of Sussex recently squashed rumors that Harry planned to fly back to the U.K. for Christmas this year. "Things can obviously change, if there's a concern about family health, but they are not hopping over the pond anytime imminently," the source told Entertainment Tonight, adding that all the royals are adhering to "social isolation guidelines" amid the ongoing pandemic.
