The shooting was reported at about 8:40 a.m. at Gage Avenue and St. Andrews Place, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

The wounded man was taken to a hospital in unknown condition.

Police set up a perimeter in the area and were reported to be working to arrest a possible suspect believed to be barricaded in an RV near the crime scene at about 12:50 p.m.

However, police cleared the area at about 1:30 p.m. and did not find the suspect, LAPD Officer William Cooper said.
