L.A. County Gas Prices Drop Again

Koehler Urges Higher Gas Prices

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped two-tenths of a cent for the second straight day today to $4.234, the sixth consecutive decrease following a 21-day streak of increases that pushed it to its highest amount since July 21, 2015.

The average price is 2.2 cents less than one week ago but 56.2 cents more than one month ago and 35.4 cents higher than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It has risen 84.3 cents since the start of the year.

The Orange County average price remained unchanged at $4.197, after six decreases in seven days following a 12-day streak of increases that pushed it to its highest amount since July 21, 2015. The Orange County average price is 2.5 cents less than one week ago but 56.2 cents more than one month ago and 36.5 cents higher than one year ago. It has risen 84.8 cents since the start of the year.
