LA HABRA (CNS) - A 17-year-old was arrested Monday in connection with a deadly hit-and-run collision in La Habra, and his father was taken into custody on suspicion of helping him, police said.

The teen, whose name was not released due to his age, was expected to be sent to juvenile hall, La Habra police Lt. Jose Rocha said.

The teen's father, Mario Popsuc, 35, of La Habra, was booked on suspicion of possession of a stolen vehicle and aiding and abetting his son, Rocha said.

The teen is accused of striking a 53-year-old bicyclist just before 4:45 p.m. Sunday in the 500 block of West La Habra Boulevard, Rocha said. The victim, whose name was not immediately released, was taken to an area hospital, where he died last night, Rocha said.

Police put out a call to the public for help finding the driver and located the Chevrolet Silverado involved in the collision in the 300 block of East Second Avenue, Rocha said.
