Target Launches New Loyalty Program With Cash Back Rewards

After Target Lowers Sales Forecast, Shares Plummet

Target has officially launched a brand new loyalty program, as if we needed another reason to go on a shopping spree. The loyalty program, called Target Circle, will make it's debut October 6 and you'll want to sign up ASAP. Here's everything we know about Target Circle.

Shoppers can earn one percent cash back on all their purchases, which they can redeem later, while using Target Circle. While that many not seem like a big reward, remember: it adds up with every purchase. By the time the holidays come around, you'll be able to put a huge dent in your list with all your Target Circle savings. Members will also receive personalized deals and offers through Target Circle, as well as a birthday present.

Becoming a Target Circle member will cost you nothing, so, that one percent cash back becomes even more of an incentive to join. If you already have a Target.com account or a RedCard, Target will automatically enroll you in the membership program. If you don't have either of those, though, you can still sign up and it's super easy. All you have to do is sign up for a Target.com account, which will automatically enroll you, or give your phone number to the cashier when you check out during your next store visit.

There are a few other exciting benefits for Target Circle members as well. During the holiday season, members will be able to vote on Target's annual charitable contributions. Customers will also get access to exclusive deals and discounts throughout the year.

“Our guests are at the center of everything we do, and we’re always looking for ways to create even easier, more rewarding shopping experiences that give them another reason to choose Target,” Rick Gomez, Target executive vice president and chief marketing and digital officer, said in a statement. “We worked directly with guests to develop Target Circle, and the program includes the benefits and perks they told us were most important to them, from earning on every trip to having the opportunity to help Target make a positive impact in their local communities."
