LOS ANGELES (CNS) - A pursuit suspect in a black Jaguar led authorities on a high-speed chase through Los Angeles County, at one point turning around on a freeway to exit and police later detained a man believed to be the driver in Highland Park.

The chase of the suspect, who was wanted for reckless driving and DUI, started near Slauson and Eastern avenues in Commerce about 8:15 p.m., according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

The driver blew past some construction cones to get onto the eastbound Pomona (60) Freeway in the Boyle Heights area and soon after turned around to get off the freeway.

The suspect drove on surface streets at high speeds in South Pasadena, Pasadena and Glendale, where the Jaguar zoomed past the Americana at Brand and the Glendale Galleria.

At one point, the suspect was driving about 90 mph on Glendale streets. Multiple broadcast reports said the driver reached a top speed of 130 mph.

A suspect was detained by Los Angeles police in Highland Park and deputies were investigating if it was the driver from the pursuit, the sheriff's department said. The location where the suspect was detained was not immediately available.
