It's a boy!
Late last year, Emma Roberts welcomed a baby boy with her boyfriend, fellow actor Garrett Hedlund. Following her son's December arrival, the American Horror Story actress shared the first photo of him on Instagram while simultaneously revealing his name.
"Thank you 2020 for getting one thing right, Roberts captioned the sweet photo of her cuddling her baby boy. "Our bright light Rhodes Robert Hedlund."
A source close to Roberts and Hedlund told People that they are doing their best to parent during the ongoing pandemic. "Having a newborn in the pandemic has been a lot harder than either of them expected, but they're really, really trying their best to figure things out," the source dished. "Garrett totally stepped it up after Emma was still recovering after giving birth. He made sure that their house was stocked with things that Emma liked and needed so she felt comfortable. She's just starting to get back into a more 'normal' routine."
Roberts reportedly waited to announce Rhodes' birth out of an abundance of caution during the pandemic. "They kept the baby's arrival to themselves because they're taking the pandemic very seriously," the insider explained. "They of course want to share this time in their lives with friends and family, but they wanted to avoid having people stopping by and visiting to be safe."
