Transient Charged with Attack on Girlfriend in Orange

SANTA ANA  (CNS) - A 26-year-old transient was charged today with beating his homeless girlfriend at knifepoint, despite a restraining order against him, after she said no to sex, according to court records and police.

Jacob Anthony Lucero is charged with one count each of assault with the intent to commit a sex offense, domestic battery causing injury with a prior conviction and carrying a dirk or dagger, all felonies, along with a misdemeanor count of violating a protective or stay-away order.

Lucero is accused of getting into a verbal dispute with the victim about 10:30 a.m. Monday at 305 S. Main St. when she refused to have sex with him, said Sgt. Phil McMullin of the Orange Police Department.

Lucero allegedly pushed, dragged, punched and grabbed her head and slammed it against a door frame before throwing her to the ground, leading her to strike her head against a toilet, McMullin said.
