Keke Palmer Had No Idea Who Brooklyn Beckham Was At The MET Gala

I hope this doesn't sound ridiculous, but Brooklyn Beckham could be walking down the street and Keke Palmer wouldn't know a thing. At least, that's how it seems following their brief encounter at the MET Gala on Monday (September 13) evening.

While Palmer was fulfilling her host duties for Vogue's live stream, the Scream Queens actress interviewed Beckham and his fiance Nicola Peltz. During their chat, Palmer asked the couple what the theme of the event, 'In America: A Lexicon of Fashion,' meant to them. Peltz joked that it reminded her that Beckham, the son of soccer icon David Beckham and fashion designer Victoria Beckham, occasionally has to leave the country for long stretches of time because he's not a U.S. citizen. Palmer then asked Beckham where he was from, revealing she had no idea who he was.

The interaction quickly went viral on Twitter. Fans were reminded of Palmer's iconic meme where she couldn't identify an image of former Vice President Dick Cheney while participating in a lie detector test segment for Vanity Fair. Though Beckham didn't seem offended by the mix-up, many viewers on Twitter declared the moment to be the "most American" thing to happen at the MET gala this year.

In the words of Palmer herself—sorry to this man.
