The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department today circulated photos of a person of interest wanted for questioning in the stabbing death of his stepfather, who was a retired Los Angeles Police Department officer.
Considered armed and dangerous, Tyrell Gay is the stepson of Darryl Lee, who was stabbed at about 4 p.m. Wednesday in the 39500 block of Colchester Court, near the Antelope Valley (14) Freeway in Palmdale, according to Deputy Eva Jimenez of the Sheriff's Information Bureau. Lee was pronounced dead at the scene.
Detectives would like to interview Gay, who was described as 6-feet-3- inches tall and weighing 250 pounds. Authorities cautioned the public not to approach Lee, but to call 911 if he's spotted. Anyone with information about the stabbing or Gay's whereabouts was asked to call the Sheriff's Homicide Bureau at 323-890-5500 or Crime Stoppers at 800-222-8477.
