Southern California is bracing for a weekend of showers and thunderstorms as a storm system approaches the region. According to KTLA, a deep marine layer and onshore flow are expected to keep temperatures below average on Thursday. KTLA Meteorologist Henry DiCarlo noted, "By and large, all of us will settle into a really nice day," but a weak disturbance to the north may bring pop-up showers to mountain and foothill areas later in the day.

The National Weather Service (NWS) has indicated that any weather activity is likely to remain further inland, with a chance of afternoon and evening thunderstorms. The NWS also predicts cooler temperatures over the weekend, accompanied by a renewed threat of occasional showers.

Sunday's storm is anticipated to be more organized, potentially leading to more widespread showers and thunderstorms. However, the system is expected to be more of an inconvenience than a major weather event, with rainfall rates and totals predicted to be low and non-impactful.
