The Pacific Airshow in Huntington Beach is introducing helicopter transport for attendees this year. From October 3 to October 5, visitors can opt for a scenic helicopter ride to avoid traffic. Code Four, the air show's operator, has partnered with Maverick Helicopters to offer this service for the first time in the event's nine-year history.

According to Kevin Elliot, CEO of Code Four, the helicopter service aims to enhance the airshow experience by incorporating more aviation elements. Flights will depart every half hour from John Wayne and Long Beach airports, landing near Huntington Street and Pacific Coast Highway. The 10-minute ride offers views of the coastline and Catalina Island.

Tickets for the helicopter service started at $179 for a one-way trip but increased to $200 on Monday. Each booking includes a 25% discount on airshow tickets. Maverick Helicopters, which also provides services for the Electric Daisy Carnival in Las Vegas, will use Airbus 130 models for the event, accommodating up to seven passengers per flight.

The Pacific Airshow, which attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors annually, features aerobatic performances, military demonstrations, and cutting-edge aviation technology. The event is set to continue in Huntington Beach for up to 25 years, following a contract approved by the city council.
